Diagram explains diluvial loam and granite deposits. William William Mather (1804 - 1859) was an American geologist from Brooklyn Connecticut. He was admitted to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1823 where his interest in chemistry and mineralogy led him the become the Assistant Professor of Geology. He would resign from the Army in 1836 and dedicated himself exclusively to Science. He published several papers on chemistry and geology and was a member of many scientific and historical societies. Today, the W.W. Mather Medal is an important Geological Research commendation. Seller Inventory # 316980
