In good condition. Boards show typical wear with light cracking and minor red rot along hinges. Spine has gilt work that remains bright, but is cracking lightly. Corners are bumped. Head of spine has segment missing. Tanned end papers. Text block is clean, bright and unmarked. Nice engraved portrait of Monck. Binding tight and intact. Please see photos. French biography about George Monck, 1st Duke of Albemarle. Monck was an English soldier and politician, and a key figure on both sides of the English Civil War, as well as the Restoration of the monarchy to King Charles II in 1660.
