Charming depiction of Venice by Saul Steinberg showing the Piazza San Marco, the Lion Obelisk, and couples riding gondolas, with his illustrations reflecting onto the "water", represented by negative space. In very good condition with minor edgewear, small dampstain to upper margin. Saul Steinberg (1914-1999) was a New York-based artist. His drawings appeared in The New Yorker for nearly six decades, and he is often remembered for his maps, which he designed to be subjective and often comical, offering insights into public perceptions and relationships with place.
