About this Item
This is an early American printing of the classic children's tale from George H. Doran Co., before Doran merged with Doubleday in 1927 (NO mention of Doubleday found), illustrated with the four original full-page and three double-page full-color lithographs by William Nicholson. BUT this jacketless copy does not show the 1922 date to title page which would indicate the true first printing. Tiny York, Penna. book shop label to bottom of front pastedown, which also bears a PON ("Sara Louise Krone") in red ink. Undated copy from 1922-1926 (our 1924 date being an estimate), totals 33 pp. Reduced from $9,000. Seller Inventory # 010639
