_____Large, 7 x 6", booklet, die-cut in the shape of a strawberry and hinged at the top edge._____ There is a 1" skinned patch from the front cover._____ The staples are rusted, freeing the center page pair. _____ Mr. Reid was the editor and publisher of the Vashon Island News and the booklet was issued under the auspices of the Vashon Island Commercial Club. _____ Page (2) is text extolling this island in the Puget Sound, "on a direct line between Seattle and Tacoma"._____ It emphasizes the strawberry industry and prospects as a summer resort. _____ The remaining pages are all photos, both full page and vignettes._____ They include Vashon College, summer homes and cottages, churches, ferry boats (Vashon, Sentinel, Defiance and Vashonian), businesses, Home for Missionary Children and of course strawberry farms. _____ The top half of the rear cover is a simple map of the island locating towns._____ The bottom half is more text describing this "paradise of the Pacific Coast.". _____ WorldCat (02/23) shows two holdings (UC-Berkeley & Wa-State Library).3._____.
