About this Item

INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY AUTHOR. Very Near Fine in Wraps: shows a touch of wear to a couple corner tips and the binding leans ever so slightly, while remaining perfectly secure; there is also a single, very faint crease in the middle of the backstrip; the text is clean. Not perfect, but remains very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 274 pages. First Edition [2011], unstated. Paperback: Pictorial Wraps. In January of 2010, a wide-eyed English grad went from peddling software in NYC to understudying the lead role in Wicked the musical -- her first professional theater gig (ever). Unnaturally Green is the humorous account of the entire journey, from her pit-stain-filled audition to the bittersweet closing night. Author Felicia Ricci wears her heart on her sleeve as she tackles the role of Elphaba, Wicked's green-skinned heroine. She leaps countless hurdles, both professional and personal: conquering the "Songs of Death," weathering a trans-continental "Week I Didn't Poop," enduring the artistic limbo of understudying, and -- worst of all! -- meeting the man of her dreams. And all the while learning, time and again, what it means to be "green." Hop into the mind of an over-sharer as she discovers Broadway's Man Behind the Curtain -- and the thrill and terror of personal growth. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY AUTHOR. Bookseller Inventory # 46210

About this title

Synopsis:

In January of 2010, a wide-eyed English grad went from peddling software in NYC to understudying the lead role in Wicked the musical -- her first professional theater gig (ever). Unnaturally Green is the humorous account of the entire journey, from her pit -stain-filled audition to the bittersweet closing night.
And all the while learning, time and again, what it means to be "green."
Hop into the mind of an over-sharer as she discovers Broadway's Man Behind the Curtain -- and the thrill and terror of personal growth.

From the Author:

Hello! I wrote Unnaturally Green because I wanted to give you all an up-close look at what it's *really* like to perform in mega-theater (when you have pretty much no idea what you're doing). As I became assimilated into Wicked (my first-ever big professional gig) there was so much never-before-shared information I wanted to record -- both procedural (how you learn quick changes, where you live when you're out of town, how often you can pee during a show) -- and personal (what kinds of emotions course through you as you perform? what's it like being away from home?). I've done my best in this little-memoir-that-could, Unnaturally Green, in which I discuss the nuts-and-bolts of the professional theater process, all manner of bodily functions, my abundant armpit sweat, and what it's like to date someone really, really muscular. Hope you like it!
