One page, quarto. Folded for mailing, otherwise fine, with the original envelope, the latter bearing a filing label on verso. A pleasant letter to a Bucknell undergraduate who, it would appear, solicited letters, photos and manuscripts from a number of contemporary writers ostensibly to include in an exhibit that his overtures imply will be devoted solely to the specifc author's career (his response from Allen Ginsberg, dated 21 January 1971, was sold at Bonham's in February 2013). Jones sends him a photo (not present) and observes: "One always fears that when one reaches the age where one's work and one's life are sufficient to be used as exhibit, or a study, that one is in danger of becoming fossilized in the academic detritus that accumulates around one's original concepts and ambitions as a writer."
