This 8.375 x 6.25 inch, 92 page hardcover book is the beautiful circa 1940s edition of this title by the Peter Pauper Press ? with no printing information given as there is no copyright page with this edition. The rear page colophon indicates 1950 copies for the press at Mount Vernon, New York. This book is in at least near fine condition with very little wear showing to the paper-over-boards cover ? with multi-colored design on front and rear panel and book title on the spine. The colors on the cover are vivid and clean ? and the interior text pages are in fine condition ? with numerous bright, striking illustrations by Erica Gorecka-Egan. The Peter Pauper Press was known for its various editions and printings over time but the printing qualities and attractive volumes still make the presswork desirable.
