1947. 302 pages. Green pictorial dust jacket over beige cloth. Pages are clean and bright, and appear almost good as new. With minimal tanning throughout. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. The boards have light edge rubbing but are otherwise unmarked. Slight browning to the edges of the pages. The pages have some light spotting at the front and back of the book but are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has been price-clipped and re-priced with a label by the publisher. It has three very small closed tears to the bottom edge of the rear panel, a little creasing to the bottom right corner of the front panel and a little rubbing to the top corners but other than that the jacket has only light edge and surface wear. Gift inscription to ffep, internally clean and tight, overall a vg++ copy of an early edition. 442pp. In 1925 Swiss born, Argentine professor, writer, and adventurer Aimé Tschiffely (1895-1954), set off to ride from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to New York City. The legendary 10,000 mile journey took him through mountains, jungles and swamps where he encountered rope bridges, vampire bats, sand storms, quicksand and hostile natives.
