Pebbled blue cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt figure to front, no jacket, 8vo. No printing indicated, year in Roman numerals on title page. 256pp. Author's preface, "explanatory index [glossary] of names." 4 b/w plates by G.P. Jacomb-Hood (2) and J.A.J. Brindley (2), with drawing to head of first chapter by former. VG. Light scuffing mid front cloth toward spine away from gilt figure, softening and touches of surface loss to spine ends, touches of loss to tip of each corner of boards. Colors anfd gilt strong and bright. Shelving soil upper page edges. Milt separation between (tissue-protected) frontis and title page with all holding well and only faint play to fron hinge. Binding and pages somewhat stiff and brittle feeliong, but all hold well and tight. Pages toned with occasional light soil but overall clean and unmarked. Extremely scarce. Not ex-lib.
