8 1/4" x 11", 225 pp., burgundy cloth decorative stamped binding with ornate blindstamped front cover illustration and with gilt titling and illustration to spine, top edge red, with dust jacket and presentation box. Boxed Edition (Volumes I and II combined into one), profusely illustrated throughout. Subtitle: "Connecting links between cities and towns of New England and those of the same name in England, Ireland and Scotland containing narratives, descriptions, and many views, some done from old prints. Also much matter pertaining to the founders and settlers of New England and to their memorials on both sides of the Atlantic. Written to commemorate the tercentenary of the landing of the pilgrims." FINE condition book with only a small gift inscription on the FFEP and some age-toning to the endpapers; otherwise excellent. Dust jacket is Near Fine, new-looking but with a few small closed tears and tiny chips at the edges because of improper removal from the box. Protective box is a bit better than Very Good with some minor chipping to paste-on panel and one corner edge split; otherwise good. See photo enlarged. Seller Inventory # 00279
