"The first printed anthology of English Poetry." (Wikipedia). First edition. Two Vols. Approx. 7 in. x 10 ½ in. Vol. I 345 pp. Vol. II 385 pp. Some pages in each volume are unopened. Red cloth over boards. Vol. II has ten b/w photographic facsimiles of title pages of various editions. The first volumes contains selected poems and readings of various British authors of the 16th century; the second volume contains Introduction, Notes, and Glossarial Index. Gilt titling on the front covers and on the spine of Vol. I; the titling on the spine of Vol. II, if originally gilt, has worn off. The spines have faded, and show damp stains (more on Vol. II than on Vol. I). Internally fine. Seller Inventory # ABE-1497539124610
