"This 5.0 x 9.0 inch, 28 page softcover pamphlet is a November, 1906 song book published by Tait's Caf? in San Francisco. This ephemera item is in good condition with the heavy cardboard wrappers showing considerable time wear and with splotching to the paper color. The cover shows "Tait's Caf? " then the address and November 1906 in gilt lettering, although the gilt color is worn and subdued. The writing is complete but one may need a magnifying glass to see the text, especially the date. There is no additional publishing or advertising information. The 28 pages show each page with a song title, and then the lyrics to that song. Each page has a different song with several of the titles "A Picnic for Two," "Dearie," "In the Good Ol' Summertime," "In My Merry Oldsmobile," "Dear Old-Frisco," "I May Be Crazy But I Ain't No Fool," and other period titles. Historic records show that Tait's Caf? closed at the Van Ness and Eddy location in 1909 and moved to a new location across the street of the new Orpheum Theater being built after the earthquake. It might be surmised that this item from November 1906 was for some special event at Tait's, as it carried forward after the April 1906 earthquake which devastated San Francisco. 28 pages.".
