This 5.0 x 7.125 inch, 223 page hardcover book is the assumed first printing of the title by Harper and Brothers in 1907. The book itself is in very good condition though it does show its age with wear around the cover edges and at the corners. The binding is still tight and the design and lettering on front panel and spine still clean and clear. The interior shows a previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown and only a bit of handling wear can be found. There are eight full-page illustrations by various artists including a frontispiece picture still protected by a tissue guard. All in all a nice book featuring reprinted stories from the early days of America, with Indians, trappers, fighters, pirates, and captives to entertain the reader. 223 pages.
