About this Item

Grey cloth with black lettering. Spine and boards unevenly sunned. Light bump to head and heel of spine and corners. Previous owner signature to front pastedown, small. Light foxing to endpapers and title page, text is otherwise clean and bright, lightly tanned. A short novelization of a mystery/courtroom drama serial that was directed mostly at the ladies but is nice to have for serial completists. The heroine, a Broadway actress (Edna Mayo), is faced with a desperate situation. Discovered unconscious on the floor of a restaurant near the corpse of a man who hated her, with a pearl-handled revolver in between them, she is put on trial for murder where she is defended by the man she loves (Henry B. Walthall). Photoplay edition includes photographs from the original 1916 Essanay serial and additional illustrations. Bookseller Inventory # A112710
