Book Condition: VG+; bumped tip on rear top; light wear to tips, head, and tail form shelving; light splash stain on front board. No DJ. Brick-red boards and spine with green box and lettering over gilt on spine and green over gilt ornament on front board. Maps as endpapers. 222pp Folio. In this book the authors have deliberately avoided discussing age or antiquity of individual pieces. They have tried to tell the story of jade in terms of its mineralogical interest and aesthetic appeal which the original craftsmen intended it to mean which encompasses Taoism and Buddhism with the wealth of legend and symbolism that embroiders each of these great systems of philosophy.
