This 10.25 x 14.50 inch, 24 page newspaper reprint was apparently printed by the Topeka Daily Capital following this disastrous flood event in July of 1951. There is a notation indicating that additional copies of this pictorial story of the 1951 Kansas flood are available for 25 cents each. This item has only a thin paper cover, with the front showing an expanse of water from top to bottom and large bold red lettering heralding the Kansas flood. The interior shows newspaper-quality paper with an article summarizing the flood event on the first two pages and the last two pages, with many photographs filling the some twenty pages between. Each picture has a caption describing location and circumstances. This delicate item is in very good condition though there is definite wear especially at the center fold where there is a tear of two inches down the folded seam at the top. This copy was folded across the middle of the oblong format and was possibly issued that way. The fold is even and firm but there is wear now at the stapled end of that fold. There is a small inked scribble at the bottom of the front panel but beyond that the interior again though being thin and aging newspaper print is in very good condition with the entire item firmly intact and in very good condition. 24 pages.
