65pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with 16 full-page color plates, small holes noted along spine edge, perhaps from a previous amateur binding -- fortunately, they do not affect any text or plates -- salvaged from damaged copies of The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, Volumes LXXV and Volume LXXVI, 1908. Plates show the the Sphinx, the Great Temple of Karnak, the Temple of Hathor, Denderah, the Sacred Lake Karnak, the Court of Amenhotep III, and the Great Colonnade, both at the Temple of Luxor, the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Medinet Abu, the Temple of Deir El Bahari, the Ramesseum at Thebes, the Temple of Kom Ombos, moonrise over the Great Pylon of Edfu, the Court in the Temple of Edfu, Pharaoh's Bed, Philae, the Island of Philae, and the Great Rock Temple of Abu Simbel. Scarce with the color plates. Neither the Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1910, first edition, nor the Century Company, NY, 1911, first American edition included color plates.
