1891 presentation copy, David Bryce and Son (Glasgow, Scotland), 5 1/8 x 6 7/8 inches tall hardbound, no dust jacket (as issued), brown pictorial paper-covered boards over purple cloth spine, folding map frontispiece and eight full-page engravings, xxi, 102 pp. Mild rubbing and edgewear to covers. Folding frontispiece is creased. Nicely inscribed in the top margin of the title page 'from the author' and dated October 19, 1892. Very slight foxing to front and rear pastedowns and free-endpapers. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked of this scarce record of an evangelistic and missionary lecturing tour 'through all the colonies of the Southern Hemisphere.' ~SP28~ From a review in the 1891 Church of Scotland Home and Foreign Mission Record: 'This little book is a racy description of travel and evangelism covering almost the whole globe. The author hints that he has stories to tell like Mark Twain's for humour, and Jules Verne's for wonder, and indeed both are present in his pages.
