Illustrated with sixteen plates (one of which is a frontispiece), all steel engravings. Translated into English verse by various hands. With a life of the poet by Thomas Campbell. Part of the publisher's series, "Bohn's Illustrated Library". With a contemporary bookplate and signature of G. Peabody Gardner, noted in pencil as a Harvard student. A pleasing copy of Petrarch's literary oeuvre, a highlight of medieval literature and poetry. Two cracks to the gutter (in different spots of the pageblock), the binding remains tight and secure.
