About this Item
Mirrored composition in respect to the original, published in Paris in the 1630s. Very fine etching representing a coastal scene, or a small harbor: boats on the right and a portion of land on the left and in the background. Possibly the city of Florence in distance. Ruined building on the left. Signed on bottom left: 'J Callot', the address of the publisher scratched off from the print itself. Etching on paper, trimmed within plate and pasted on cardboard with margins; total 85 x 208 mm. Despite the removal of the address of Visscher in very good condition. Lieure 267, mirrored.
