About this Item
8 5/8" x 11 1/4", red pictorial cover, no dustjacket issued. LIMITED EDITION. Number 49 of 300 copies. This copy has been signed and inscribed by prominent Native American actor Chief (Ted) Thin Elk, 20 years before his movie career began at the age of 72 (signed 'Chief Thin Elk, 1971, Billings S. Dakota' on FFEP). Also signed by 'Rev. M. Rose, 1973, Kailua, Ha.' on FFEP. Former owner's inscription on front pastedown, 'Property of Rev. John "Eagle Thunder" Leos'. All three possibly were prison inmates at one time, as this was a book about imprisoned Indians and the rear cover has remnants of adhesive presumably used to affix the striking cover art of the book to a wall for display. Adhesive will come off for the most part with scraping (and a lot of effort); there are two areas on the back where there is paper loss; also, corners are worn through. However, the front cover, spine, and interior of the book are a solid Very Good overall: no writing or marks except for the inscriptions; bump to spine head. Very Good Minus. Seller Inventory # 02517
