About this Item
Erik Gustaf Geijer was a Swedish poet, historian and composer among other vocations. His work The Viking (Vikingen) was part of a nationalist movement that helped rehabilitate the image of the Viking from wild barbarian to the heroic Northman known today. Immensely popular during his lifetime, for more than a hundred years, schoolchildren have sung and recited his poems and songs about ancient Vikings. This is a nice edition of his some of his works and has his most famous poem, Vikingen in it.
