Unique full leather binding, gilt titles with gilt decoration, attractive gilt design to the upper board, gilt detail to the corners on the turn ins of the paste downs, subsequent end papers marbled. Pages 23-26 detached and worn at the edges. The binding is unsigned but undoubtedly undertaken by a skilled binder. lvi, 392pp including the index. Approximately 6 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt title, small gilt decoration to the top and bottom corners, the outer tips of the spine also decorated in gilt. Joints good condition very gently rubbed and worn. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition full green leather boards, the upper board has a gilt design to the centre, the rear board has a small gilt decoration in the top left hand corner, the outer edges of the boards have a small gilt heart at the beginning and end. Page edges good condition top edge slightly darkened, all tanned and foxed. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound. Paste downs good condition gilt detail and hearts to each corner of the leather turn ins. End papers good condition marbled, subsequent end papers tanned and foxed. Title good condition b/w portrait to the centre, lightly tanned with some foxing. Pages good condition the page facing the title has some offsetting from the portrait, pages 23-26 are detached, lightly tanned throughout. Binding good condition. See photos. Publisher: see above.
