viii, 154, 20pp. Original publisher's green gilt-tooled cloth. Partially unopened. Inked ownership inscription of 'Stopford A. Brooke 1891' to FEP. Some rubbing to extremities. Small split at head of lower joint. Stopford Brooke's copy of William Michael Rossetti's (1829-1919) critical exploration of Shelley's 'Adonais', the most famous elegy on the death of John Keats. Brother of Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882) and chairman of the Shelley Society, Rossetti was well known for his biography of the poet, Shelley, with a Memoir (1870), and membership of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
