Later printing. Folio. Two nested bifoliums making eight pages. Music shop stamp and owner name on the front cover, foxing and rubbing to the exterior, light edgewear, very good. For voice and piano. Plate number 3708-3. Features short samples of six other songs written by Cole and Johnson, and the back cover features a sample of "Marie Cahill's Congo Love Song" by the Johnson Brothers. Bob Cole was a popular African American songwriter known for his work on *A Trip to Coontown*, which is considered the first musical production created and owned entirely by African American artists and performers. J. Rosamond Johnson was an African American composer and singer best known for the song "Lift Every Voice and Sing," which he wrote with his brother James Weldon Johnson (who is named on the cover but not credited on the score). Harry Nilsson released a performance of this song on his 1973 album, *A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night*. Seller Inventory # 506115
