A presumably unauthorised reprint of the enlarged (and best) third edition of this book. There are no publication details, but this appears to be a later, possibly 1970 s, reprint of the 1928 Third Edition of Green s Shanghai of Today. Likely published in China. Quarto. Bound in paper covered hard boards over a brown leather effect spine with an image of the Administration Building of Shanghai Municipal Council pasted on the front cover. The book has the same design endpapers, list of contents and introduction as the original and the fifty pages of images are included as plates from photographs (rather than the photogravure plates in the original), each with the caption below the image. With a gift inscription to "Tee Wee Jock an Doris" from Arnold Graham, dated 1978 to the end paper. All in just about Fine condition. [Arnold Graham (1905-1996) arrived in Shanghai from England in 1928 and worked for the Shanghai Gas Company there before relocating to Hong Kong in the late 1940's where he continued working for Hong Kong & China Gas.
