Engraved frontispiece with tissue guard & 14 other illustrations - 10 on plates, others in text. This account first appeared in the form of articles written by Mrs Stopes for the "Genealogical Magazine" under the titles of "Shakespeare's Family" and the "Warwickshire Ardens". Text clean throughout. Binding sound. Front and bottom edges untrimmed. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering on front board and spine. Shakespeare's family crest in gilt on front board and spine. Shallow deent in front edge of front board. Corners bumped. Top and bottom of spine bumped. Damp staining on cloth of rear board with cloth lifting in places. Overall condition VG-.
