About this Item
This booklet contains two publications by the Bridgeport Brass company. It is in very good condition. The first, Bridgeport-Keating Flush Valves Instruction and Data Book or Bulletin No. 24 is a slim saddle-stapled pamphlet, 16 pages in length. This pamphlet, also in very good condition, has no added marks or stamps and no loose pages. It has been neatly glued to the front free endpaper of the larger booklet (see photo). Includes sections on the three models: Model C Foot Control, Model B Oscillating Handle Control, and Model A Push Button Control. Includes illustrations, diagrams and part lists for each of these models. Includes instructions for assembling and disassembling the parts and for servicing them. The second publication included, Seven Centuries of Brass Making: A Brief History of the Ancient Art of Brass Making and its early (and even recent) method of production contrasted with that of the Electric Furnace Process a twentieth century achievement of Bridgeport Brass Company, was published in 1920. Softcover binding also in very good condition, 76 pages in length. Covers the history of brass making, from the Middle Ages to the time of publication. Includes sections entitled Difficulties in Brass Making and Possibilites of the Electric Furnace, Electric Brass Furnaces, The Electric Casting Shop, Phono-Electric Wire, Brass and Copper Tubes, Sheet Brass, Rods and Wires, Laboratory and Research Department, Characteristics of Brass, and Additions and Impurities. Includes 86 figures (illustrations, diagrams, and plates) printed in black and yellow. The entire publication is printed in black, red and yellow. This publication has a 44333 stamp at the top left corner of the page facing the title page, but no other marks, writing or stamps. Binding is tight and strong, with no loose pages. Three binder holes were added to the full booklet (both publications) after it was produced. The bottom 2 ½ of the spine are starting chip away, revealing the signatures of the second publication included. Otherwise, the covers are clean. An interesting combination of a bulletin and a history of the trade. Seller Inventory # Fred-Trade31
