A delightful Victorian children's picture book, fully illustrated in colour with charming characters and amusing period details of life at the seaside, where holiday makers chat with fishermen and children play amongst the boats drawn up on the shore. This one shilling series is in good condition in bright coloured card wrappers, adverts for Warne's Nursery Literature to the lower cover. There is a chip to the spine which has been hand stitched together with beige thread. The chip does not damage the colour pates or text. Beautifully inscribed to verso of upper cover "Xmas Day 1871.
