About this Item
BOOK DESCRIPTION: 12mo, xiii, 286 pgs, illustrations and with color plates, dust jacket. Revised Edition. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Near fine. Interior is clean and tight. Unclipped DJ is near fine, now in mylar sleeve. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: A fishing classic in a very attractive revised edition. As an angling student, George Parker Holden followed the writings of Thaddeus Norris on American angling. In 1919 Holden penned his first book, "Streamcraft". At the time, America was experiencing a truly unique fly fishing evolution weaning itself from the British tradition based on their more placid waters. This new American manner of fly fishing on more turbulent waters was distinct in both style and technique. It relied on an approach of recognizing specific natural insects and developing their imitations. Much for the experienced angler, as well as excellent instruction for the novice; plus a great Catskills-related fishing book in a very attractive edition with the DJ. Nice collector's condition.
