No publication date but published in 1941 in a limited edition of five hundred copies on handmade paper. Translated into English with notes and an introduction by Alan Hull Walton. Illustrated with designs by Antony Moore. ***Very good in salmon coloured buckram boards. Edges slightly faded. With a bookplate on the front pastedown, from the library of Maurice T. Watling. Printed on quality handmade rag paper. ***In a very good, slightly rubbed price-clipped dustwrapper, which has a vertical crease to front and back panels. ***Dandy, prodigal, debaucher, voluptuary, opium addict, convicted blasphemer and offender of public morals, Charles Baudelaire is considered one of the two or three greatest French poets, and is assuredly the most widely read around the world.
