8vo. stiff handmade paper wrappers. 46 pages. Printed in an edition limited to 150 numbered copies, of which this copy is not numbered and inscribed to Herbert H. Johnson by the author on the colophon page. A fine copy of this rare book. Vignettes, logos, devices, bookplates designed in the years 1925-1937. Each page devoted to a single image--mostly heraldic--and a brief caption. Berthold Wolpe (1905-1989) was a typographer, type designer and teacher in addition to designing commemorative reports, trademarks, posters and book covers. Wolpe emigrated from Germany to England in 1935 having already done some typographical work for Stanley Morison. He then went on to make his name as the book designer for Faber and Faber. Page numbers and many illustrations printed in red. Title page in red and black. Uncut fore and bottom edges. Seller Inventory # 79048
