12mo (7 x 4.38 inches), original calf, 300 pages. Though copyrighted May 18, 1825, Ralston s final epistolary piece addressed to Walker is dated in type at the foot Mingo-Creek, December 1825. An attack on Campbell and the nascent Restoration Movement, first published in 1823 in Pittsburgh. The Walker-Campbell debate marked the first public debate by Campbell, and by most accounts he dispatched Walker handily leaving Ralston to mop up for the Presbyterian side. This edition includes additional letters from the Irish-born and early Washington Co. Presbyterian divine, Samuel Ralston, who arrived in the region in 1796. A nice, fairly early Washington [Pa.] imprint, and an early Campbellite item. American Imprints 22020.
