About this Item
Please read the following description carefully: this folder is lacking a few plates. Original folder with front board detached and generally in poor condition. Descriptive booklet generally toned and within a loose paper cover (as produced). The booklet provides various levels of description for the plates (except one which is referred to only in the preface by Borough Johnson) 26 plates are mentioned in the introduction but there are descriptions for 27 along with the further plate as previously mentioned, making an expected total of 28. Three named plates lacking: The Death of King Warwulf / Harald Harfagr / Advent of Winter. The plate mentioned in the preface is included (Morgan Le Fay). Also included is a photographic plate of Sandys (the same image as in the NPG). All plates are loose: never bound in, this makes 25 plates plus photo plate. All plates with slight spotting and edge creasing and generally in reasonable condition apart from one: 'Old Chartist' which is heavily toned and spotted. Plates suitable for framing. This item is undated: most results from Jisc / B.L. give the date as 1915, the odd university library gives a date of 1910. Further details available on request. Extra postage required for delivery outside the U.K.(bij). Seller Inventory # 004259
