Hardcover without dust jacket; gilt blocking to front board and gilt writing to spine; 7 full colour illustrations by Charles 'Snaffles' Johnson Payne, and many b&w illustrations throughout. Boards are worn and rubbed, bumped at corners and scuffed at spine ends. Frontispiece page is slightly loose, but still intact. Foxing to page block and endpapers, plus some very minor foxing to a few internal pages; previous owners' names penned to FEP. Text is clear and images are bright and clean throughout. AD.
