Blue with gilt lettering and coat of arms design. Two small bumps on spine, shelfwear head and heel of spine, corners slightly rubbed, mild soil. Small previous owner's label front pastedown. On front endpaper, pasted on are a photograph of Lady Stanley, and an 'In Memoriam' card, on thick paper which bears the hand inked initials H.J.C. (the same initials that the preface is credited to), which both appear to have been added later. There are four small chips at the front margin on two pages of the introduction, otherwise text is clean and bright, no marks. Illustrated with twenty-four beautiful full page drawings by the author, each with tissue guard. Seller Inventory # E613SM
