small 4to. quarter vellum over marbled paper-covered boards, gilt on spine. 36, (4) pages. Printed in an edition limited to 270 numbered copies. Spine soiled, covers lightly soiled, corners with minor bumps. Hinge starting at title page. Else a near fine copy. Consciously traditional in its interpretation of the art of the book, works issued by the Bremer Presse are imbued with simple elegance and reserve. Founded in 1911, the press closed in 1939 amid the political upheaval of the Nazi regime. Decorative initial letters by the noted calligrapher Anna Simons.
