First edition mail-art book/object, 4to and stapled in stiff paper wraps. Housed in manila envelope with attached leaf. Comes with rubber stamp enclosed in old plastic cassette packet, still stapled shut with business card to exterior. Rubber stamp reads "Royal Hunt of the Sun. Thur. Nov. 17, '66" - referring presumably to a particular iteration of Peter Shaffer's play of the same name. Mild wear to book, binding sound. Unmarked. Manila envelope chipped with heavy edgewear but intact and functional. "The Quiet Sheet" is a zerox "comp-u-lation o' crap [.] a never ending + ever changing wacky whack of paper, pieces bits and whatever else" edited by Joel "King Furry Couch" Shipley, a tattoo artist, antique dealer, and "curator of the museum of cultural atrocities". Contributors would mail 100 copies of an artwork, which Shipley would collate and mail back. This issue, unnumbered circa 1983, collects prints, newsletters, stamped art, collages, and flyers from Mondo's World of Merchandise, Morton's Trashola, Out of Kontrol Data Korporation, Logarithmic Tapes, BC Artifacts, and others. 16mo unbound booklet of ancient miniature tales of Boatmen entitled "Boatman Stories", 6pp, laid in. A charming, rare example of avowedly low-brow zeroxed mail art/zine culture from the 80's in very good condition. Seller Inventory # ABE-1684002166784
