About this Item
[5] pp 6-58 A three act play by A H Armytage, printed in small numbers for 'private circulation'. Armytage appears to have been a relative of George Armytage, fifth Baronet of Kirklees in Yorkshire whose neat circular ownership stamp appears on the endpaper and title page with A H Armytage's name written in pencil beside the pseudonymous 'Pax'. The book is bound in black morocco with blind and gilt decorations and rubbing to the extremities. The play text is set in three locations: in the country, hunting quarters and home quarters and appears to be a pretty broad comedy. Obviously printed for a restricted audience it's not know whether the play was ever performed. Very Good Please contact Christian White Rare Books Ltd for more information or images of this item.
