This is a UK hardcover of this title published by Frederick Warne & Co in 1887. The book is in Very Good / Near Fine overall condition with straight spine, sharp corners and firm spine ends. The page edges are toned. The binding is tight with the gilt lettering / design on the boards intact. The pages are clean overall but the odd one has fallen foul to foxing over the years - although nothing significant. There is a neat owner inscription dated 1887 on one of the front end papers. The book has 376 pages excluding adverts and is illustrated throughout with black and white drawings / photos. The title page confirms the publication in 1887 but from research I think this is a later printing of the first edition. Seller Inventory # 016698

I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is NOT provided automatically on UK parcels - you have to choose priority mail AND pay an additional �7 postage on top.
