Unlike later numbers the first issue had no photo on the front. Tumble-bound English/Afrikaans each 17pp. bound with a single staple. The first page of the English section has come adrift and of the corresponding leaf in the Afrikaans section (containing the address sheet and the Afrikaans p. 2 on the reverse) only a small portion of the address remains. Internal pages unmarked and undamaged but age-toned and with the odd crease. The first page is ragged at the edges probably due to clumsy opening as the corresponding back leaf bore the address. Many small b/w photos and letters from PoWs. Contains "A Message to the Relatives and Friends of Our Non-European Prisoners-of-War". Extremely scarce. Seller Inventory # 001505
