Dust jacket condition: good. Cover has minor shelf wear to head and tail of spine; slight fading to tail of boards. Jacket has minor tears to head and tail of spine; rubbing to front panel and front wrap; slight discoloration to back panel. Small octavo; 317 pp. Silver lettering on dark gray cloth boards. Illustrated by Gil Walker with numerous delightful pen-and-ink drawings, including panoramas on front and back endpapers. Binding and hinges tight; clean, bright copy; no markings. From jacket notes: "As aide-de-camp to Prince Napoleon (cousin of Emperor Napoleon III), Colonel Ferri Pisani saw and heard a great deal during their visit to America in 1861….
