Third Spalding Club, Aberdeen, 1951; large 8vo, 195 x 250mm; pp 398 plus 11pp list of members; ten charts, three maps, six views, six portraits, seven genealogical table; later binding of light green leatherette-patters paper boards with green cloth spine titled gilt; ex-library with an accession label on the front pastedown, a neat red stamp and a perforated library mark on the title page; spine dulled, and corners a little bumped but otherwise sound and clean. . . . This work is not concerned with the various Powis, or Powys, peerages or with Powis caslte in Wales but refers to the eponymous burn and to the lands in Old Aberdeen conveyed by Bishop Gavin Dunbar in the early 16th century to King's College for its building, the land subsequently owned variously by others.
