Grey cloth hardcover with title in gilt on spine, in "homemade" dustjacket. Condition: Good, with general light shelfwear to covers and a watersplash mark to lower outer corner of rear cover (not affecting the book in any way. Some browning to endpapers from dustjacket flaps. Previous owners name neatly written at top of front endpaper. Some occasionall light creasing to top outer corners of pages. Dustjacket condition: Fair, please note the dustjacket has been "homemade" by the previous owner using thick pale green paper, to which are affixed portions of the original jacket, on the front cover, spine and front inner dustjacket flap (see image). 246pp. Several b/w illustrations. This book contains an account by the potter Bernard Leach of his trip to post-war Japan in 1953-54, written as a series of day-to-day impressions, including his meetings with old friends, Soetsu Yanagi and Shoji Hamada and his exploration of the contemporary world of craft in Japan at the time.
