About this Item
A sumptuously produced book, with numerous illustrations, including tissue-guarded in photogravure, from children's portraits through the ages. Undated, but circa 1900-1910. Finely bound in full green leather, with rich gilt decoration on the front and the spine. Professionally re-backed in leather, with much of the old backstrip laid down (see illustrations). A few minor marks to leather. Binding thus in very good, sound condition. Small bookplate on front free decorated end paper. 398 pages, all edges gilt. Text in very good, tight, clean condition, with light age-browning and minor wear to the front blank end papers and frontis/tissue-guard only - minor. Hardly any foxing/age-browning. Altogether a very good copy. A large (30 x 21 cms) and heavy book requiring extra postage. See photographs attached. Seller Inventory # BM3416
