The red buckram covering is in beautiful condition and the tooling and design-work with the gilt lettering is spectacular. The covers, edges, and corners show virtually no time or handling wear, and the colors on the binding are bright and as new. The interior body is incomparable condition. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown and some penciled initials on the ffep. The paper in the text body has browned somewhat with age but remains in fine condition.
