Frontispiece engraving + over 400 engravings of the individual horses, each protected with tissue-guard. Text includes horses' pedigrees and performances recorded in full. Some light toning and foxing, not affecting engravings, and apprx. 3" tear repair extending into frontispiece engraving of vol. I. This extremely scarce set details early winners of Ascot, Greenwood and Doncaster cups, together with other major cups, stakes and matches throughout Britain.Covers very good, text & plates very good.
