Five first editions, first impressions of city profiles, with distinctive largely full-page illustrations by leading architectural photographer A F Kersting and commentaries by well-known historians such as Desmond Guinness and George Scott-Moncrieff. All are large format books with wraparound covers in colour of their subjects and were first printed in 1955 (Cambridge); 1956 (Oxford); 1961 (Edinburgh); 1964 (Westminster) and 1967 (Dublin) The books are bound in their original boards, which are in Near Fine to Very Good condition; three have short and neat contemporary previous owner's marks to the front end papers; all have very clean end papers and tight text blocks with no spotting or sunning. Dust jacket condition: Very Good to Near Fine with no losses, occasional closed tears and minor scuffs to some extremities; none are price clipped, apart from the Cambridge Portrait.
