Binding firm but not quite straight and with some movement. 1938 gift inscription to ffep. 601pp., contents clean and bright. Final free endpaper has a vertical crease along its length. Huxley's longest novel, an examination of conflicting worldviews, social mores and intellectual ideals among a group of characters, some of whom are loosely based on the prominent figures in the world of literature and the arts, including DH Lawrence, John Middleton Murry, Augustus John, and others.
